Woah! Hey there. There's gonna be some recipes here eventually! And probably some really pretty decor. In the meantime:
Here's a recipe for Cheeseburger Macaroni.
Serves: 6ish. Time to cook: 40 minutes. (20 active, 20 baking)
Ingredients:
- 4oz Velveeta, cubed
- 8 slices American Cheese, cubed
- shredded cheese to top (I used Mexican cheese blend)
- 1lb beef
- 4 slices of cooked bacon, chopped
- 12oz Brami Curly Mac (any pasta should work though)
- 1 can of Manwich sauce
- 1.5tsp beef Better than Bouillon paste
- 2-3 c water
Things get a little hairy here. I know what I used, but I'm not confident in the measurements.
- 4 Tbsp Yellow Mustard
- 4 Tbsp Double Concentrate Tomato Paste
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- paprika
- black pepper
- Lawry's seasoned salt (Brand does matter here, sorry. Other seasoned salts suck)
Instructions:
1. Cook Pasta according to package directions. Salt your pasta water liberally (like the sea) and save about one cup of starchy pasta water after cooking.
2. Bring a heavy bottom stock pot or dutch oven up to medium high heat. Toss in your ground beef and season liberally with garlic, onion, and black pepper. Also add your paprika and seasoned salt, but you can add a little less of those.
3. Once your beef is cooked thoroughly, and you've cooked off all the water, toss in your chopped bacon. Cook, stirring for about 3 minutes until bacon begins to crisp up again.
4. Remove the majority of the fat from your meat however you see fit.
5. Add in your yellow mustard, tomato paste, Better than Bouillon, and Manwich sauce. Stir until everything is a cohesive paste.
6. Pour in 2-3 cups of water, stirring until it is thoroughly incorporated. Your sauce will look overly watery at this point, but you're going to fix that later.
7. Bring sauce to a steady simmer, then slowly melt in your cubes of American and Velveeta cheese.
8. Once cheeses are melted, splash a bit of your reserved pasta water into the pot.
9. Return heat to medium-low and cook, stirring often, until the sauce thickens about 70%. I don't know exactly what that means, but you'll probably get it. You want it thick enough to stick to the noodles, but still thin enough to easily COAT said noodles.
10. Add noodles to the pot with your sauce, turning to coat.
11. Transfer to an oven safe baking dish, or you can cook it in the pan its already in if you used a Dutch oven.
12. Top with shredded cheese, bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or until golden and bubbly.
Serve this meal with some kinda veggie. You need it. Also, rolls or garlic bread!
You might additionally choose to add some finely minced onion to this meal, or dill relish to really lean into the cheeseburger part. Good luck!
